“North Shore Senior Center Display” by Carol Arnolde and Michelle Thrane
Our club has a display at the North Shore Senior Center during the months of November, December 2009, and the beginning of January 2010. This facility is quite expansive and therefore, we displayed our framed images in both the large auditorium and three walls in the atrium. We hung 18 of the larger images in the auditorium with considerable space in-between the photos – it looked very much like you would see at an art gallery. I thought it was very impressive. The remaining framed images (approximately 30 to 40) were hung in the atrium, and were also displayed elegantly.
This facility is used daily by the seniors in the area. I'm sure they will be excited about viewing our photography. We've come a long way since our first display at one of the nature centers. Thank you for your assistance in choosing and framing your images, for set up and take down, as well as your willing spirit. I am very proud of the quality of your photography and delighted at how very nice the areas looked with all your photos in place. Thanks to all who brought images and a special thanks to all those who came and helped hang the display.
We have several centers and libraries in 2010 that would like to see our photography. In January, the Luther Village in Arlington Heights has asked us to cover their walls for three months and in February, the Ela Township Library in Lake Zurich wants us to fill their Art Gallery. We are in demand. I would love to see images from our new members at the Luther Village and a combined effort at the Ela Township library. I will be contacting you. So print your images and frame them for display. We need your help. Thanks for your support and for sharing your hobby with the surrounding communities.
